KY Leadership Networks
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) chooses partnerships to build a statewide system of Leadership Networks for teacher leaders in both Mathematics and English Language Arts, as well as school and district leaders.
Literacy Design Collaborative
The Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative will provide support for effective Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC) implementation, including refinement of the four components and unit and curriculum mapping/planning across all networks, including science and social studies where possible. They will provide LDC assistance at science and social studies network LDC meetings; and planning, training, and support for two leadership acadamies.
Mathematics Design Collaborative
The Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative will facilitate eight on-site days of Mathematics Design Collaborative (MDC) training for the Kentucky Department of Education. KVEC will provide a two-day workshop with KDE leaders on the Math Design Collaborative and Measure of Effective Teaching (MET). Goal is to develop plans for scaling MDC across networks. Participate in the development of CCSS-aligned tools. KVEC will provide three (3) follow-up 2-day workshops with KDE leaders to discuss MDC, MET, Assessment, Course Outlines, and Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Participate in the development of CCSS-aligned tools.
